Welcome to my life. It's been a fairly gurgle gurgle kind of existence so far, but who knows. Watch this space.

New Kid On The Block

So, dear coz,

Let me tell you how it goes.

Even though you are going to grow up really fast, so fast that it will soon be completely impossible to believe that you were ever in my auntie’s tummy, I will always 1 year, three months and two weeks older than you. I know that sounds odd, but trust me, I have more experience of these things than you do.

And the fact that I will always be 1 year, three months and two weeks older than you means two things.

One – obviously, I get to be in charge. I get to decide what games we play and who gets to play goalie and if I say no girlie games – urgh poo-ey – that means no girlie games.

Or maybe sometimes, just to be nice

But, and far more importantly – two – I get to love you hugely, and I get to be hugely, hugely excited that I actually have, my very own first first cousin. [ed – is that a typo - should it read 'first cousin once removed' or something] – [carmi – no that is first first cousin, keep up, goodness, where do they get these subeditors from these days].

Well, here I am, back in bath with Natalya Zoe, my cousin.

She’s the daughter of Daren and Pip, my dad’s brother and wife.

And she's even got her own blog, much inspired by you know who, check it out;

www.nataliagordon.blogspot.com

We are just so happy that she’s here and not looking yellow anymore – and can you ever believe that I too was once so small, ah all mighty oaks needed to start from an acorn.

So dear Natalya, welcome to the world, we are so so happy you are here, bursting with happiness for your mum & dad – who I have to say are looking a lot less haggard than my parents did when I was a week old.

Thanks for the loan of your travel cot, just so you know, you can always play with my stuffed lion when you come up to London.

Here’s to the start of a beautiful friendship,
